On shoulder: tendrils with berries. Narrow channel flanked by tongue decoration between discus and end of nozzle.
Base with impressed planta pedis within base ring.

Comments:
Although the imprint of a 'planta pedis' (footprint) on the base of earlier lamps sometimes contained a lampmaker's name, the shape itself seems to have been mainly generic and not restricted to a specific workshop. The imprint persisted into the Byzantine period, when it is common on "Late Ephesus" lamps until the 7th century and typically appears in a somewhat cruder form as on this example.
